Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Test Preparation
AEI offers the following Test Preparation courses for those who are preparing to enter colleges or graduate programs in the United States. This twenty-two-hour per week academic program includes classroom instruction as well as instructor guided and evaluated mandatory lab work projects and assignments.
All of our students in the Test Preparation program are non-native speakers. This means, especially for graduate tests, that in addition to primarily teaching test skills and knowledge, in many cases it is desirable and best to review, strengthen, and further develop test-related foundational English language and associated thinking skills. In addition, basic English-language test-related concepts and vocabulary that are assumed for the native speaker often cannot be for the non-native speaker.
Students must separately apply to the Test Preparation Program with the following prerequisites:
· Successful completion of all eight levels of AEI Intensive English Program, OR
· Score higher than level seven on AEI’s placement test, OR
· Passed professional licensing exams in English, AND
· Student must plan to take the test(s) associated with the course s to which they are applying and matriculate into a school which requires such test (s), etc.
All Test Preparation courses are progressive with specific learning outcomes. Specifically, our program consists of the following courses:
