Programs and Courses

Overview

At Atlanta English Institute, we have 3 major academic programs:

Intensive English
Test Preparation
Tutoring

The Atlanta English Institute (AEI) programs are designed for academically oriented, non-native speaking adults from beginner levels to those seeking mastery. The school aims to build solid academic foundations and foster communication, as well as the skills and knowledge to achieve personal, professional and academic success. AEI does this through the context of a nurturing environment which models integrity and excellence.

Each program is specially designed for our students and based on their current level of English proficiency and their goals. Click through the tabs on this page to find out more about the individual programs offered here at AEI.

A student may enroll anytime, not just at the beginning of a course. Beginning mid-session, however, depends on the availability of space in the classes. All continuing students, including those joining midsession, must re-enroll for each subsequent session during Registration Week (the seventh week of each session).

Students who enroll or start mid-session (or who are tested after the fifth week of a session and wish to start the following session) may be asked to move from morning to evening or from evening to morning classes as space permits.

Intensive English

For more than 25 years, AEI has been offering a high quality, Intensive English Program to non-native speakers from all over the world. Classes are led by highly qualified, native-speaking instructors. Our classes are small, intimate, and student-centered.

Our Intensive English Program focuses on 6 core elements of language proficiency. These are the Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, Grammar, and Vocabulary. It consists of 7 levels from beginner to college level proficiency in English. When a student first comes to AEI, they are given a placement test. The results determine the appropriate level of study.

Test Preparation

Several of our students come to America to continue their advanced education at an American University or College. Since these schools operate in English, they often have entrance exams to ensure that their students have a full understanding of English and can communicate in English before coming to learn at their school. AEI has developed several Test Preparation courses to help our students prepare for these entrance exams.

Depending on the student's goals, the school they are looking to enroll in, or the certification they are wishing to receive, there are several courses to choose from. Explore our offerings and class requirements by clicking the relative button below:

Teachers

Native Speakers

An additional reason students choose AEI is that they want instructors who are native speakers without an accent.

Our students learn American English from American instructors. Other credentials and requirements include a relevant college degree and TESOL Certification in teaching English as a Second Language – knowing how to communicate in a way that will help students learn quickly and with the most productivity. The majority of our faculty members hold advanced degrees and ESL certifications.
